If I submit my home to Mid Century Modern SGF, will it be automatically registered?

No, not necessarily. A Cape Cod-style home that was built in the 1960s, for instance, may not meet MCM SGF's home criteria just as an ultra-modern contemporary home built in 2011 will more than likely also not meet criteria. If in doubt, we'd love for you to submit your home anyway.

Of course! MCM SGF is as much a community of preservationists and fans of mid century modern as it is for homeowners. All enthusiasts in general are invited to be part of the organization, meet other members, and come to events.

What is the process to establish my home's profile with Mid Century Modern SGF?

When your registration request with Mid Century Modern SGF is approved, we’ll first collaborate with you to collect basic information about your home:

  • The home's designated style, if applicable

  • When the home was built

  • Any extra tidbits you may have (blueprints, historical photos, architectural information, etc.)

  • A professional-grade photo of the exterior (taken by the MCM SGF team)

Optionally, we would love the opportunity to take photos of your home's interior and interview you about your home so an editorial piece can accompany your home's profile, but neither are a requirement. In short: You can contribute as much or as little as you’d like! After obtaining the information listed above, we’ll add your home listing to the website and keep you up-to-date about events, community news, and more.

I want to participate, but I’m worried about people knowing where my home is located. Will my address be listed anywhere?

Absolutely not—we understand and respect all homeowners’ desire for privacy and will never list any addresses, nor will we list which area or neighborhood of Springfield your home is located in.

Is there an annual membership fee for Mid Century Modern SGF?

No! Being a member and having a home profile is completely free. However, if you would like to make a donation to help offset the costs of site upkeep, organizing events, etc., you’re welcome to do so by filling out our contact form. Your donations are very much appreciated.

Can I refer Mid Century Modern SGF to a fellow homeowner?

Please do! Although we know of many mid century modern homes in the area, we certainly don’t know them all and encourage you to help us locate as many as possible. Refer a fellow homeowner or submit your own home for registration by reaching out through our contact form.

How can I be notified of new home features, events, blog posts, and all that good stuff?

You can either sign up for the Mid Century Modern SGF newsletter, below, or ‘Like’ our Facebook page. Either one will keep you up-to-date on everything MCM SGF is up to, from home additions to meetups to recent blog posts.
